HOTEL AND HOSPITALISAM

Department of hospitality administration.
Many hotel managers and hotel-operating companies are attempting to use the internet and worldwide web as an effective management and marketing tool. An exploratory survey finds thousands of hotel-related sites. Most such sites are hotel guides, chain hotels, and individual hotels, in that order. Current WWW hotel sites vary tremendously. Available functions of a web page include: travel information, reservations and payment, special promotions, links to partners, direct consumer feedback, employment opportunities, audio and video ads, gift certificates, shareholder information, newsletters, frequently asked questions, and a list of and links to individual hotels. The costs of establishing and maintaining a web site vary considerably, depending on the site-owner's commitment and objectives. The most effective hotel sites are those that give the consumer the easiest, most rewarding access to relevant and related information. For any web site, there are five important considerations for its successful management: defining the mission, calculating the margins, addressing the mechanics, planning the marketing, and performing the maintenance

About a car

Step1: Place the important details in the first part of the ad to grab the reader's attention. Most people will scan the first few words and then move on to the next ad if they are not immediately intrigued.

Step2: Use key words that describe the car you are selling as well as good buzz words that tend to generate interest in today's market. Examples include "fuel efficient," "GPS system," "only one owner" and "kept in covered parking." Make sure you touch on these descriptive phrases when describing the car.

Step3:List factory upgrades that similar models may not have. Let the buyer know that the vehicle has a towing package or sun roof. All the extras may be enough to give you an advantage over other models on the market.

Step4: List important after-market upgrades that make the car more appealing and unique, such as a new stereo, upgraded audio speakers or a new security system. Include mechanical and engine upgrades as well.

Step5: Appeal to the buyer's lifestyle or occupation. Using examples such as "good work truck," "ideal family car" or "fuel-efficient car for a commuter" can remind the buyer that your car will fit their needs.

Step6: Include all recent replacements made to the car such as a new battery, tires or transmission. The new components will appeal to the buyer. This also signals that you gave proper attention to routine maintenance adding longevity to the vehicle for sale

STUDY IN JAPAN

Active international exchange is now taking place throughout many parts of the world, and there are now said to be more than 1.5 million foreign students studying around the globe. Of them, 121,812 (as of May 1, 2005) are studying in Japan. What is it that attracts these students to Japan?

The greatest appeal of studying in Japan is its academic environment where one can study state-of-the-art technology and acquire the knowledge that enabled Japan's phenomenal postwar economic growth. Whether it is electronics, Japanese literature, medicine or international business administration, Japanese universities and other institutes of higher education can offer course studies or research programs of virtually any field. The ratio of students who go on to universities (undergraduate level) and junior colleges (regular courses) is also very high in Japan at 48.6% (Source: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) "Statistical Abstract 2002 edition"). This figure is indicative of the high standard of education in Japan. Many institutions of higher education, such as universities and junior colleges, are well equipped with fine research, computer, and library facilities and enable students to carry out their research in an excellent environment.
Japan has produced many outstanding researchers in diverse fields. Still fresh in our mind is the awarding of the Nobel Prize to two Japanese scientists in 2002. Mr. Masatoshi Koshiba, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, received the prize in physics for the detection of cosmic neutrinos, a "mystery" elementary particle. This discovery had a major impact on the elementary particle theory. Meanwhile, Mr. Koichi Tanaka was awarded the prize in chemistry for the development of ionization methods that became the basis for the analysis of the structure of protein molecules, opening a way to the development of new pharmaceutical drugs as well as the early diagnosis of cancers. As of 2001, 10.4% of published academic papers were produced by Japanese researchers (Source: MEXT Statistical Abstract; Original source: Institute for Scientific Information, "National Science Indicators, 1981 - 2001").
Many leading figures who are playing an active role in the world today have the experience of studying in Japan. The network of coursemates that you can build in Japan will undoubtedly become an invaluable asset for your future career.
